View Full Version : Changing sort order-- template goes away

While viewing reviews via review_insert.php ...
When the sort order pulldown is clicked, a new page is displayed with the new sort order, without our (body.php) template.
Tim: A couple days ago I wrote you (Post #121) about clicking the "continue to page..." button. That is the same symptom as above.
* We have temporarily removed the above sort pulldown.
* Also, we have increased $NumReviews to avoid this issue.
Thanks.

Hi,
I've been working on your problem but yet to figure out a solution. For clarification to other readers, this is in reference only to the review_insert feature.
I've posted on a programmers board to see if anyone there knew of a solution.
I'll get back to you when I have some news...

If it helps you to visualize what's going on, I'd be happy to re-install
the drop down and/or the 'next page' link. Let me know.

(Sorry, I posted as a "Guest", above)
By the way, I replaced my review_insert file with the standard vanilla
version ... the same problem occurs.
That should rule out any modifications I made to the file.

Hello,
I know exactly what you're talking about. It's not because of any changes you've made.
If the page displaying was the same url, it would work the way you want it to. That would only work if your data were in a database and the pages were dynamically displayed.
So far, I've 3 other programmers reply but no one has a solution yet.

I'm having the same problem. Editing the body.php page works when continuing to page 2 from the index2.php but not when doing it from review_insert.php. Is there a solution?
It would be fine if you had a link on review_insert.php that went to the corresponding review in index2.php. Something like "read all reviews" and it will take you to a index2.php with the item# which displayed all the reviews. Then you can manually insert a "back" link going back to the original review_insert page. The only thing that sucks about this is that I don't know if it's possible to display only 2 reviews on review_insert and "all" the reviews on index2.
Tim, please hurry up and recover from your shoulder surgery so we can get some support on this... ;)

It seems there is no way to prevent this the way the file is now. While brushing my teeth today, I had a revelation! :) I think if I combine all the review script programming into one file, it would work the way you are requesting. I will work on that when I get caught on some things.
Thanks,
Tim
